Upon PnP quite unbalanced with strong reduction and tannins. Over time in glass, improved incredibly and secondary nuances emerged and found its equilibrium. Very persistent aromas of ripe black fruit mixed with cedarwood incense and old leather Glossy but well constructed, finish impressively long. Complex and quality wine.

It was a super wine! The best Italian wine so far I had in these recent years. But it was still very young and could last for decades. Besides it nhad concentrate aroma, silky smooth, close strcture and long after taste. I opened it for the gathering of colleauges whom haven't met for almost three years since Covid. Everyone felt grace.

The '12, '13, and '14 were all showing very well if not very similar, but the '13 was a bit more balanced in my opinion, opening up after a while to showcase blueberry and blackberry/cassis notes, soft and ample, appealing right now. The '14 was slightly more angular, some metalic mineral notes (maybe just a function of its youth) with blueberry, blackberry, silky, good structure. Masseto dinner at Rocco Borgese 1997-2015

Decanted 3 hours and drank over dinner with filet mignon. The wine is young but approachable. Velvet purple in color, coating the glass. The nose was gorgeous: pickled cherry, menthol, leather, earth, and graphite. The wine is full bodied with bold tannins and a long finish. Very fresh acidity, with fruit emerging later in the finish. The palate showed earthy notes, mint, plums, prunes, and maraschino cherry. Beautiful wine which will grow into a spectacular beauty. Next bottle in 3-5 years

Really a pleasant surprise given youth. Drink now or hold for decades.
