Dinner with Margo, Don & Leska. Medium dense color. Wonderful mix of primary fruit and toasty tertiary aromas. Palate is rich. Balanced. Savory. Great length.

(from magnum) Vanilla oak dominates dusty and musty black pepper and berry. In the mouth blackberry and pepper, spice, long finish. Nice but the oak is a bit intrusive...

Smokey, spicy nose. Still got great acidity, and very drinkable. Not too hot, always a novelty for an Australian wine. Not bad for a NSW wine, could almost be French

Wonderfully intense red berry and liquorice perfume with hints of vanilla and leather in the background. Very smooth and well balanced. Excellent acid and strong fine tannin. Lovely dark flavours with lifted bright red berries, tar and liquorice spice all blended together seamlessly. Not as earthy and leathery as most old hunter Shiraz. Quite delicious.

Lunch at the Williams residence (Kent, England): A cool climate Shiraz (bottle actually says "Hermitage" which says something about the style), this had a very fresh nose of red berries and flowers. Big bodied, with a fruity attack, fine tannins and medium finish. This has certainly aged gracefully. Very nice.
