  • It takes a good 30 mins to blossom with sesame, nut fruit, coffee beans and grilled hazelnut. Palate is so vibrant and fresh with layers of yellow and nut fruit. It is very complex and intriguing as time goes by. Love 93 Leflaive. 93-94

  • I had no expectations of this wine which was an after thought when purchasing other bottles. This is at the top of its game and drinking beautifully elegantly. The colour is perfect with a golden hue showing peak maturity but no sign of over age. Lemon and peach are prominent on the nose and palate. The palate is buttery but retains a steeliness back end and on the finish to give great balance. Highly recommended, but I suspect that this probably will not stay at this level for much longer and that bottles without cellar storage are already compromised. 94+

  • In a flight of 93 Leflaive Montrachet, Chevalier Montrachet and Pucelles, this bottle really outperformed its pedigree. The most youthful wine among the three probably because of provenance. Grilled nut, flint and citrus on the nose. Palate was intiially leaner compared to the other two big boys. But it gained considerable weight and volume in the glass, releasing that old leflaive honeysucle and nut fruit. The length was certainly shorter compared with the two grand cru, but it reallg stood out within its own class. A really superb pucelles. A great entry point to taste a great old leflaive at a relatively affordable price. 93+++

  • Wet steel, almost a distilled white fruit(raisins) flavor that begins with the nose and finishes all the way past the back of the mouth. Beautiful acid and balance. A very nice olive oil yellow green color. One of my earlier experiences with white Burgundy.
