Wow. Now this has the power and weight of a Chevalier Montrachet. The most fruit forward of the bunch but supported by that d’Auvenay linearity. A massive and structured wine impressive richness and a hint hazelnut deliciousness. What a treat.

200 Burgundy Grand Crus from vintage 2000, 4-day blind tasting (Singapore): Rich, ripe, powerful. Lots of volume, lots of acidity too. Top drawer Burg albeit on the plush side.

Light matchstick, elegant aromatics. Piercing flavors, ethereal texture. Trades on elegance over power. (1140/1211)

Holiday Burgundy Lunch - Rousseau, Leroy, DRC, Ramonet, d'Auvenay (Scottsdale, Arizona USA): Served blind. Dense and sweet, guessed maybe '99 Leflaive. The reveal was somewhat disappointing, this was a good wine but didn't blow me away as most d'Auvenay white wines do.

Modest reduction. Really broad, yellow fruit palate with touch of butter to start. Mid weight. (502/1211)
