Beautiful nose of dark candied plums and graphite. In the mouth it's somehow restrained and completely over the top, balancing the extremes quite nicely. A rollicking finish keeps hinting at more sweetness. Being new to amarone, I'm not sure what to say.

I have been waiting to try this for 5+ years and it’s bitter cold so I thought a good time. Opened for 2.5 hours. Color is deep garnet. On the nose: Plum, cinnamon, tar, dark chocolate, espresso and clove. On the palate: Plum, cinnamon, dark chocolate, dark cherry, espresso and a hint of licorice. This is an oh my god is this good wine. It is very rich and very sensual. My only issue is the massive alcohol level but that’s Amarone. I will say this, on my next trip to NYC or London I am going to buy 6 bottles of similar Dal Forno and some Valpolicella. 3 or so bottles a year seems a good challenge. My last Dal Forno was in NYC at a restaurant maybe 7 years ago with friends. It’s even better than I remembered.

Really high alcohol content at 17% ABV. The wine opens up beautifully after sitting in the glass for 1-2 hours. Tart cherry, chocolate, and pepper on the nose. Expresso, ripe black fruits, prunes on the palette. 95-97

Pretty much delivered on exactly what others have offered. Beautiful Amarone.

Lovely; still young, but already delicious; beautiful Amarone; bouquet, fruit, finish. Excellent balance.
