Day 4. From a tiny bottle from Matt N that Harry S gave him for me from the Acker BYO. I took this down to MD to have w my dad: Shared from Zalto burg bowl. Took a bit to open but just classic and lovely - exotic spices and huge florals, the lovely sweet celery green crunch, wild strawberries. Class and complexity beyond measure. Roses. Tiny strawberries in the background. Pinpoint crystalline. Mushrooms. The palate is very tart with the savory celery green up front and then a lot of mushrooms with hints of red fruit and flowers. Very wound and super acidic - it’s possible the fruit has disappated a bit with all the abuse of the small bottles. Great intensity with tons of layers - very saucy and also crisp - soy and dry aged beef or somehthjnt umami. Long potent finish. The palate and finish aren’t as perfumed as the nose but still delicious. Thank you Harry and Matt!!! Nose - 6/6, Palate - 5-5.5/6, Finish 5.5/6, Finish - 1.5-2/2 = 18-19/20.

Robouchon Lunch - epic wine especially for the 90s. clearly at another level compare to the others i've tried in the decade. Vibrant and clean. Beautifully balanced with acidity and depth. Spices. But I do wish it's a bit more concentrated. A little delicate for my personal palate but can fully appreciate it's awesomeness.

DRC vs Leroy Dinner (Kheam Hock Road): Absolutely fabulous. What a lovely Leroy nose this had, with beautiful wafts of earth and spice, herb and bramble, and deep draws of blueberries and violets. Amazing. Fantastic palate too, really juicy and bright, with plenty of chewy acidity and fine, powdery tannins lending a wonderful sense of energy and freshness to the wine’s deliciously rich flavours of blueberries and dark cherries. So yummy, with a lovely fullness on the attack and midpalate. Great finish too, with a lovely long blush of spice of and a hint of green bramble stretching away into the distance. A beautiful wine drinking at peak - this was fantastic, completely wiping the floor with the 1993 DRC RSV it was paired with.

CC. Incredibly stem aromatics that simply jumps out of glass. No wine smells better than this, the end. Sweet, simply massive palate. It's on peak plateau but not improving further. (94/869)

David Koch bottle. Stem bomb, intoxicating. Remains my Damascene wine for good reason. (95/869)
