  • Very different on day 2. No decant. Light red color, hedonistic nose immediately when cork was out. Quaffable, light and sweet from the beginning, charming and sexy. Red berries, vanilla, mint. Easy drinking, you always want more. Medium to long finish, silky. On day 2 the wine was kind of shut down, locked. Very reserved, austere. Some red fruit notes, but very distant. Medium finish was tannic. Definitely not as pleasant as the day before. So I assume there has some more years of development ahead.

  • Drank the last bottle of the 07 on our CO/UT trip. Was the winner in a Coravin tasting with some strong competition. Drinking really well when at the right temperature. The first night we drank it we did not have time to cool it down. At around 75 deg, the alcohol spiked a bit and it was out of balance. But around 60 deg, it was terrific. Last bottle; hope the 06s are as good.

  • Brownish-red garnet color. Mushy raspberries and a bit of spice on the nose. I find this wine hard to parse by sensory element as the blending of flavors is so thorough. It has passed its apex and is overall a bit muddled. However, it avoids dullness by virtue of its still-sharp acids and medley of tart and overripe red fruit, mostly raspberry with just a passing hint of watermelon somewhere in the palate progression. This was consistent at opening, after a few hours, and the next day after being left overnight on the countertop. I’m shocked at the comparison with my 93-point review last October.

  • Medium-dark garnet color with the faintest hint of brown. An odd but compelling nose of cocoa, mushrooms, and red berries. Sharp, sweet berries on the front palate. A touch of vanilla cream at the mid palate followed by more red fruit and cocoa. Lingering cocoa and creme in the finish. There is also a bit of funk, which might have blown off if I had met is decant more than an hour, but it was more additive than distracting. Delicious.

  • Really nice bottle. This is fairly traditional in style, mid-weight, with good red fruit, and some nice secondaries. The tannins are still notable, but this is drinking well now. A very good food wine. Will easily hold for a few more years, but drinking well now. Have one bottle left and would like to see where it is in a couple more years. Was an excellent value at $40
