Opened 4 hours in advance. No decanting, just opened the shoulder.
The nose is intense, alluring with mature blackberry, black cherry a hint of liqorice and mint.
Well balanced and velvety in the mouth, good acidity and a good presence of tannins, though a bit dusty. Long.
For my taste it is in the ideal drinking window but those who prefer tannins that don't stand out should wait as the acidity gives headroom to more years of cellaring.

Dark color. Black cherry and a hint of smoke on the nose. Still quite tannic. Good acid. Medium+ body. Long finish. In a good spot right now. Should drink nicely for a number of years to come. Paired with mushroom bolognese--exquisite!

2009 GIOVANNI CORINO VIGNETO ARBORINA BAROLO- 100% Nebbiolo; I`ve got a few bottles of this wine and it was drinking so good for the last time I visited it, it got my consideration for this restaurant`s fine Italian cuisine; for a young Barolo, this was very seriously fruit forward with a solid structure, good acidity and soft tannins to carry it down the road for years to come; oak influence is evident but not cloying; it`s medium to full bodied, the texture is smooth and creamy, it`s layered and long; to me, it more like New World Nebbiolo from the Old World.

Pure garnet color. Oak and light smokey earth nose. Lovely palette- medium bodied, bright cherry flavors, smooth. Paired great with arugula, italian cheese, balsamic glaze salad. Long finish. Really enjoyed this bottle-- a lot more time to chill. Great without food too.

A little mint on the nose. Darker fruits on the palate with a tar note. This was much darker, riper and plusher than the Sottimano Pajore. Ann preferred this over the Sottimano. I preferred the leaner Sottimano. 15%alc.
