  • Past its prime and it's showing. Darker robust richer yellow apples and orchard fruit.
Lots of caramel notes that took away from freshness in my opinion.
Everyone else at the table enjoyed more. Well made but less my style.

  • Weighty ripe apple fruit dominated with a nice rich purity, good depth of flavors and framed by enough acidity to keep it still fresh and interesting. Reasonable length and overall a nice crowd pleaser. A very good drinker, yet not quite profound. Good example of the Lato style in my opinion. I suggest drinking up as don’t see it improving, but no big rush.

  • PnP: golden straw; tight nose; losing some fruit, medium body; pleasant spice finish; nose opens after a bit, pleasant cinnamon; citrus flavors joining midpalate; time to drink up

  • Coravin: golden straw color; tight nose, lean citrus, some loss of spine in mouth, but a little improvement in the glass, nice spice on the persistent finish that shows it’s not ready to be forgotten, but drink up.

    Paired nicely with salmon sashimi.

  • My first PL chard and boy was I happy with it. At 55 out if the cellar it was tip top with great lingering acidity, a medium body and fantastic food sense. As it warmed up it became a bit muddier and commonplace with the oak becoming more dominate. Drink chilled or let it lay down for a bit longer.
