This is incredibly reminiscent of the 98 Plessy I had recently. Bright red fruit with a savory hit, and a bit of that cloudy/crunchy aspect too. Out of coravin so didn't really follow it long.

Had at restaurant so not detailed notes. Mid-weight, earthy, herbal, peppery cote rôtie. Traditional style. I really liked it, but it was still quite young. If I had this in my cellar I would wait at least 5 years. And I would buy it if I could find it.

The wine is fairly closed upon opening but there's a fabulous herbaceous and stemmy nose with some sharp red fruit. Starts tart and sour, but with air and warming it opens some; the only sign of oak (this sees some new oak) is in the character of the drying tannins that cling to palate. Firm, compact, and wild. After several hours of air it's much more open for business and develops an awesome silken texture. This screams classic Cote-Rotie to me.
