Candied and dried apricot with very impressive depth. Slightly less acidity than the best of Sauternes from this same vintage, but really wonderfully layered and complex. Purchased at the domaine at release, I haven't tried this wine in over a decade and am very pleased with what is here.

A wonderful experience ! 2001 was a great vintage for sweet wines in the region the bottle was looking like being filled with honey : a bronze hue A nose of exotic candied fruits and on the palate a velvety taste of dried plum. At its peak (it's my second try) but may surely stand 5 more years

From a Mag & PnP. I had high expectations for this wine, and it did not disappoint! The nose was floral with white flower and honeysuckle dominating, the palate was dominated by orange marmalade with just the right amount of acidity to prevent it from being cloying. The palate also showed complexity with layers of baking spice, some dried apricot, a little peach and a hint of burnt caramel, with shades of wood lurking in the background. I would put this against any top Sauternes (except Yquem, although it could hold its own). This was treat and easy 95+ to 96 points. Drink or hold....won't be disappointed either way!

The Return: The Monthly Big Group Comes Back (Ciao Bella, Mpls): From Magnum. Small glass. Very dark gold color. No notes on this, but it was in fine form and very enjoyable. See Jason's note for details. Thanks for sharing this one!

Lot's of marmalade, orange peel and zest on the nose. Nicely balanced palate with a touch of burnt sugar. Nice.
