Sometimes a difficult vintage will produce a surprise or two. Glad to say that 12 years on from vintage that the Boucherottes is one of those surprises. Tasted on day 2 after opening.
Pale center and perfectly clear showing a wide clear rim and some age close to the rim. 5
Integrated and spicy on the nose with just enough herbal presence to balance against the licorice, dusty pepper and ripe red fruit. Shy, but nice. 12
The palate is still powerful, racy and evolving. Any accusations of an early drinking fruit bomb are fading into distant memory. Tannins are subtle and not bothersome and the earth, cedar and tarragon are stepping up against really bright cherry and cranberry. 17
The finish of this 2011 is long. I mean LONG. Two minutes after tasting and there is still proper evolution. 8
Purchased at the winery directly the week before tasting, so I am assuming perfect cellaring. A wonderful surprise.

tasted at Jadot. super fruity, cherry bomb. I would not have guessed this came from Burgundy. Hard to tell if this can develop into anything, but it is an avoid in this shape. 0*

A little bit thin, sharp and unfriendly tonight. But it feels like an honest wine, and it may come round. QPR not outstanding, however, compared to the Bouchard Beaune Teurons at the same price, a much fuller and more generous wine.
