Tasted over 2 hrs -nearly semi-translucent med red mild clearing -sweet earthy cherry fruit mild reduction -med acidity, med weight somewhat one dimensional ripe but not surmature sweet cherry fruit that is starting to turn some sweet oak, med tannins -not bad but rather big and ripe for a 2011, this doesn't have the pretty Gevrey/Maume aromatics nor the rustic terroir signature of many prior vintages, in early maturity

This wine has been highly underrated. It is an exquisite burgundy that is opening up beautifully and could carry in the bottle for a few more years easily.

This bottle was much better than the first two I had tried. It does have nice cherry fruit, but a shallow finish to it. After being open an hour or so this has improved considerably. The cherry fruit is more delicious and the finish is more full.

Since the last bottle was not so good, this time I decanted the bottle an hour in advance of tasting it. While the decanting did help somewhat, this wine continues to be a major disappointment. It has a pale orange color and a weak nose of unripe strawberries. On the palate, the taste resembles the nose with thin strawberry fruit. All I can say it that I am glad I only have one more bottle to endure. I hope the 2010 vintage will be better when I open those bottles.
The most recent note, from ten days ago, is unfortunately quite apt for us. The wine is translucent — not in and of itself a problem. Thin strawberry, indeed. On the second night, we thought it might be picking up some complexity/tertiary aspects. But by the third night, it was dead. Quite disappointing.
