A village wine that "boxes" WAY above its classification. Allen Meadows told me this terroir is in an ideal location. It's not far from Mazi Chambertin and coupled with the great 2015 vintage this wine drinks at the 1st Cru level. Beautiful wine that's drinking very well at 9 years old. An insiders wine for sure. Beautiful Gevrey!

P: Med, poss MF, body; Nice, almost swtish frt met by a puckerish astringency which slowly, fairly seamlessly transitions into the quite LONG, very slightly tangy/astringent finish with HINTS of swtness to its very, VERY fine tannins. NEEDS into '20, poss more, but certainly has potential! My EXC- with poss 2 notches higher... eventually. 90-92 pts WA & 16/20 Jancis Robinson. [Couldn't compare this vendor's $58.95 as I was unable to find any other sources.]
Note: This "Maume" label confuses me. https://alianewines.com/products/domaine-maume-cote-de-nuits-cote-de DOES list this particular bottling whereas the Marchand-Tawse site linked below doesn't. I will TRY to see if this vendor's bottles list an importer when I've the opportunity.

Drinking really well. Smooth, subtle tannins, rounded and well-developed. A lovely bottle
