  • Really elegantly sailing through the decades with a wonderful freshness but some earthy grip. My first ever taste of Bernard's handiwork (vs Bertrand).

  • PopnPour, tasted over 3 hours
-Very little browning at edge, looks younger than its age
-Pretty black cherry with Gevrey earthiness/spice, aromatically gorgeous
-Med acidity, medium concentration but light on its feet, on the simple side, very little secondary development, still with medium+ tannins
-Nice example of '95 tannins, Maume aromatics, and Pallud sturdy rusticity, WIN

  • Opened and poured, this wine showed well. The wine has entered a mature period and most like was at its best a few years ago. The aromatics offer a mature blend of dried cherry, forest floor, leather and dried floral notes. The color is a dark ruby that surprisingly remains youthful with a nod toward mature color tones. The medium plus bodied palate continues the mature theme with some tannins and acidity remaining on the medium length palate. This wine does react to airing and shows it best after about 45 minutes where the differing components on the bouquet and palate become more harmonious and integrated.
