Drank over a great sunny afternoon. This was medium intensity; very light in color but very much alive with fruit all over still. Not a great sight; met the winemaker last year and he asked me to drink up but its still holding up. Losing power IMO so drink up. Nothing green or anything in-regards to the Vintage.

Ready, open, nice red cherry fruit but with some sour notes too. With proscuitto: a touch earthier. Some slight notes of iron. Very good. Also went well with chicken & mushroom paté and a roast chicken (best of all with the latter).

2004 is often regarded as a questionable vintage in red Burgundy as many of the wines have shown unpleasant green aromas (pyrazines?). However, there's no sign of such here. Actually this is a very charming maturing Gevrey, quite weighty for a village wine but in a good place now. Red cherry fruit seems to be gracefully fading into the background, giving way to a beautiful earthy character. Very enjoyable.

(Domaine Maume Gevrey-Chambertin En Pallud) Cranberry red color; strawberry, sous bois and spice nose; tasty, balanced, sappy, ripe strawberry, sous bois palate with nice herbal edges; short-medium finish

Dried cherries, roasted mushrooms, earth, a hint of barnyard. Great village wine, textbook G-C.

As before. Smooth, refreshing, fruity.
