  • Browning, on the palate savoury, brothy, but with sweetness in the middle and a twist of acidity giving it life. Lovely mature Gevrey.

  • Some earthy dark fruits and some minerality on the nose and and on the palate. A good volume of fruit balanced by tannins and acidity. This has certainly moved on since my last note, with more complexity, but still has some way to go before peak. Should last very well. Punching well above its village level. 92-3 and will go higher.

  • Dark in colour, notes of undergrowth, spices, red and dark fruit on the nose. On the palate spicy, sweet fruit, great acidity, well balanced with good grip still. Nice length. Very good, no rush drinking up. 91-93

  • Tasted over 2 hrs
    -med dark red
-lovely expansive ripe dark pinot fruit barrel spice and wet stone, just like tasting from barrel
-barely med acidity, med weight soft rich purple dark earthy pinot fruit not terribly complex but full and substantial with a stylish touch, sweet oak just on the border of being intrusive dances with the med tannins that have a bit of coarse rusticity
-the vintage endows this Pallud with more stylish flair than usual but still belies its origins with some rusticity, great nose as usual chez Maume, the wood is prominent enough to be substantial and but doesn't quite cross over to sickly sweet

  • This has a fairly deep colour and mature, slightly burnt fruit; medium weight, spicy and earthy. For a village wine, this is quite full and rich, and it has good length. It still has plenty of life in it.
