91 pts

From magnum. A spectacular wine and my wine of the night. While the fruit has retreated to the background, there is enough of it there to lend balance to the wine and make its presence known. Mushroom aromas lend a pleasing mustiness to the nose with iodine and metallic elements flitting around. While perhaps technically past its prime, this bottle was in a very good spot benefiting from the magnum format and domaine cellaring. Waves of umami flavors on the palate. Great pairing with roasted squab with truffle jus.
