Oak and butter bomb. Somehow in a good way? Ripe apples, stone fruit, cream and butter. Full bodied with medium + acidity. Nice long finish. Try it with food; but good just by itself.

Deep straw in color. Nose of peach, autumnal spices, and hints of butter and limestone. Tastes of pears, peaches, butter, and cardamom. Lovely mouthfeel with pronounced acidity. High malolactic acid which dominates after an hour plus of aeration. Solid wine immediately upon pouring. Dissipated quicker than expected after an hour. Should drink well for at least another 3 years.

93 again. Drank alongside a 2013 Liquid Farm White Hill Chardonnay. This Cuvee Alyce remains quite vibrant with a bright taste of lemon, honey and pear layered around a core of butter. I have two bottles left and will try to let them stay around as I am curious about the length this might have. There is a tight and refreshing acidity that suggests to me that it could evolve into other pleasant stages. We will see.

I opened and compared this with the 2012 vintage of the same wine. I liked the 2011 slightly better. it was a rich gold color with transparency and viscosity. It is aromatic with fruit scents of pear and tart apple with some spice notes from the oak barrels. In the mouth, it is slightly tart with mineral notes backing up the pear and apple fruit. Overall, it is harmonious with medium body and a lengthy finish. While some oak is noticeable, it is not at all buttery or flabby. I liked how it paired with fried shrimp and also with smoked Gouda cheese.

Consistent with prior notes. This drinks very well with a light touch of oak, citrus and spring flowers. Really great with grilled shrimp and on its own.
