What a deep golden straw color! Damn, what a wine! Golden delicious apple, Meyer lemon, lemon meringue and a kiss of vanilla. Stunningly good, but unfortunately my last bottle. 14.2% alc. With sautéed sea bass over succotash. 07.22.23. Highly Recommended.

Drank over 10 days or so. Puts me in a tropical mind with more citrus than flowers or butter. Astonishingly refreshing and light for an 8 year old. I would drink now.

Upon pulling the cork I immediately said uh oh as a wiff of funk hit me. Twas nothing and it just needed a minute of air before said funk turned into a delightful if not perplexing nuttyness. Hansel's deep golden hue is always pleasing to the eye too. Nose continues w hints of lemon and honeysuckle. Medium acididy, full body and great mouth feel. Lemon curd, hazelnut (agree w a previous reviewer) dominate the palate w a subtle unripe melon and citrus twist leading into a mouthwatering finish. The acidity surprises. Or, I'm full of wine...

We hadn’t had a Hansel Chardonnay in a while, and decided to try this both because our wine shop had just sent out a mailer announcing a new vintage (so do we still like it and should we order more? Why yes!), and because the dinner menu included bay scallops. A rich gold in color, with a nose of hazelnuts. Definitely on the richer side, great viscosity and length, and maintains a balanced profile. We were happy to order more!
