Nose: tar, grass, dark fruits, slightly metallic Notes: tasted blind. Somehow the tar and grassy aroma is quite apparent and the wine is still quite alcoholic. At this moment it's unable to show much substance and certainly not ready to drink yet. I think at least another 6-8 years will be needed in order to bring this wine to a more drinkable state. I am unable to rate this any higher as it really does not taste great at this very moment. Drink: 2030+ Rating: 87

Double decanted. Smoke, raspberry nose of impressive intensity. All kinds of fruit then licorice and a little alcohol. Energetic and powerful. Needs much more time. Excellent! 80% new oak.

Day Four in Burgundy: Anne Gros, Hudelot-Noellat, Dujac and Drouhin (Cote d'Or): Barrel tasting at domaine. Darker colored fruit, mostly black cherry and blackberry, perhaps some blueberry. Firm and very powerful this is a CV meant to age with a dense, meaty character. Perhaps the first vintage that Anne Gros' (newer) Echezeaux cuvee is at a comparable quality to her classic CV for me.
