Ramonet 1er Cru / Anne Gros Grand Cru Dinner (Formento's - Chicago IL): In vertical. Fully mature red berry and cherry with baking spice. Lots here, but slightly more earth than I'd consider ideal. Final glass was still going strong on Night Two. Not as vibrant or exciting vs last time tasted in 2021.

Clos Vougeot - Ech/Grand-Ech Side Tasting (Chicago): 08/02/98/04 single blind. Explosive aromas of youthful, spice-filled, intense black cherry. Similar flavors and richness to the '02 but more energy, vibrance and textural elegance. Chiseled finish with perfect fruit and acid interplay. Impressive.

Clos Vougeot (Grands-Echezeaux / Southwest-side) Tasting (Hughes House - Chicago IL): Single blind in 98/02/04/08 vertical, all fairly easily identified correctly. Mature red and black cherry is still more fresh vs mature with complex, layered spice and textures in very bright support. Good+ density, very good+ balance and charm. This wine just seems to keep getting better over time. My fav of the flight, while some preferred 2002.

This wine keeps getting better. Full, deeply fruited and earthy. Polished but not too polished. Has really come together over the past few years. (93)
