Great bottle. Double decanted one hour. Opening notes of white truffle and some barnyard, forest floor. Developed over the night, four hours, to show elegance and vibrancy, orange peel and light rose.

Stood up for 2 months and carefully decanted to leave behind all sediment. Pale ruby with age-appropriate bricking, no particulate matter; high intensity aromatics with red fruits, some soy and umami character, some roses and floral; palate is light bodied, prominent vein of high acidity which provides amazing freshness, red cherry, strawberry, soy, tannins present but well integrated and just to provide structure and character; finish is medium length. For a base level barbaresco, this is superb, utterly drinkable, and a wonderful pairing for food. For its price ($165), it's kind of worth it for the experience, but it lacks a bit of depth and character of the top producers (or, I imagine, Giacosa's higher end bottlings). I'm enjoying this very much, and it seems very ready to drink and in a lovely spot (at maturity, but still with plenty of fruit). 92

Very fine Nebbiolo. Gorgeous floral display of roses and violets, some red fruit and smoky leather as well on the nose. Just a bit of tannin left on the seamless, well balanced palate, with more cherry, strawberry, and long finish.
