Classic representation with smoke, iron, mineral and stone red fruit. So much going on while it was composed and integrated. Old Giacosa is just on fire even in white label. So awesome.

Amber ruby in color. Threw very little sediment, to our surprise. Cork intact. Tannins resolved. Smoothed after about an hour. We did not decant--probably a good decision. Pleasant acidity balanced against the complex flavors that combined fruit and leather. Exceeded expectations by far given that we drank it in 2015.

Perfect in every way. Cork was in great condition with only staining on the bottom. Decanted for sediment. The nose smelled of a hint of tar, leather, wet autumn leaves, and dried flowers. Palate was wonderfully sweet, smooth, and integrated. Some spice, dried fruit, a hint of blood. This improved with 30 minutes of air and remained at a perfect plateau for the next 3 hours. A wonderful treat. So sad I don't have any more.

Generally consistent with previous note, but the first bottle was fresher.
