Signature Leflaive sensation of sesame, orchard fruit, caramel, custard and smoke. It has a good combination of fruit and acidity. Compared to the 95 Pucelles, the Combettes has more richness but less acidity and precision. 92-93

my note from earlier this year fits but this wine was better on all measures, still some smoke and age on the palate, nose was creamy and rich and vanilla'ish, smoke and some caramel on the palate alongside some stone fruit, really liked by all and better than the bottle i wrote a note on earlier in 2013

well not completely premox'd, but i'm sad that this wine from my favorite PM 1er vineyard and favorite PM producer isn't awesome as i hoped it would be, this wine showed lots of age character, glimpses of lemon chiffon here and there but also plenty of smokey age character that makes this a good wine but not great, can't be compared to some '92's and '90's that i've had lately that tasted younger, crisper, fresher by far

Deep lemon, very toasty/pain grille nose, displaying little fruit but much butterscotch (and custard!). Dense, rich palate with a persistent intensity of flavour through the mid palate. Still a good amount of acidity on the attack and some minerality on the finish. Overall very complex but with very little fruit (faint lemon) left. One to drink now and for fans of aged montrachet.

Just an extraordinary example of aged white Burgundy. Absolutely no pre-mox here. The wine is very fresh and lively with excellent acidity balanced by gorgeous lemon/hazelnut fruit. Finely concentrated on the finish with wonderful chalky mineral notes and lots of complexity. I would say this wine still has 10 years of wonderful drinking left.
