  • The bottle had low fill and the top of the cork was oxidized. I was prepared for the worst but it proved me wrong. It needed a lot of air to unfurl. It's not the best bottle I've had from this batch but it was still fine.

I've had over a case of this wine over the years and it always delivered. Sadly I am down to my last bottle!

  • An almost perfect mature white burgundy - I had such great consistent experiences with bottles from a lot from auction and this was one of the best showings yet. The wine has a wiff of reduction still, it's mineral, salty, densely woven, very precise and energetic still, with waves of fresh lemon fruit coming at you. It's amazingly good really, almost incredibly so for a mere 1er Cru.

WOTN by a margin edging great Selosse rose, Salon 12, Mugneret Gibourg Clos Vougeot 99 and Meo Brulees 2000. Unanimously voted best wine. Sadly only one bottle left :-(

  • Fantastic showing today; elegant, end danseuse, yet very intense with orangepeel, minerals galore, vibrating citrus. Premox? Fuggedaboutit, this is lively still young.

  • Tasted at Guy Savoy LV, this wine had a deep yellow center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose was young with classic lemon, matchstick (toasty oak), minerals, and petroleum jelly.

It had good weight and great balance balance in the mouth. Yes, it is still tight and showed a dollop of toasty oak (I am quite sensitive to oak so it may not stick out to you). The acidity and length were impressive.

This will continue to improve. Give it extended decanting if you can. It should pick up a point or two in 6-12 years.

  • Delivered again. If only all white burgs could be this consistent.
