  dégustation chais d'oeuvre. Ouvert 1-2h avant service. Robe rouge claire. Nez éclatant de fraise des bois, sang, pinote davantage (cerise guigne acidulée). Bouche ample et longue. Tapisse la bouche pendant une éternité. Très très long et encore en devenir bien que magnifique déjà.

  Nez très floral à ce stade, pur Rayas, qui n’en fait pas trop dans la maturité (ah 2008…) avec de la rose séchée, du pot pourri, de l’orange sanguine, de la fraise confiturée. À ce stade de la dégustation il est très appétant !
  En bouche un peu peu serré, avec de la tension et de la fraîcheur, il accroche un peu, mais sans dureté, c’est accessible.
  J’aime beaucoup ce genre de millesime chez Reynaud, il possède le charme fou qu’on attend.

  From bottle, opened 4 h in advance: colour of full saturated cherry red, hints of dark orange, intense nose of cherry/kirsch, rose hips, orange peel and ripe tomatoes, oregano and other herbs, fresh chanterelles and wet leaves, on the palate fleshy and chewy, very intense cherry-liquor sweetness covering the sweet and ripe tannins and the underlying sound acidity, it´s powerful and light at the same time, extremely elegant for such a young wine, great depth and a finish lasting almost a minute, great potential for another 2+ decades, maybe perfect around 2030, but such a joy to taste young. 97p

  Barrel sample "Le coeur": very light ripe red berries, light spices... taste is very light but very fresh
  Barrel sample "Le couchant": Powerful nose of red cherries, very spicy... very concetrated, tannins present, nice lenght
  Barrel sample "Le levant": a bit more austere style, which is gonna make the "bones" in 20 years from now!
