A darker and also more faded bottle than the last I had. Still very much alive, this bottle was getting tired on the edges. Cherry still there, but darker than previous bottles. Nice soil tones and a smooth palate, but spice notes have almost entirely faded.

Wow, was this a surprise. I thought this would be just a museum piece for us to taste but this was obviously an amazing bottle. The classic kirsch cherry aromas jump from the glass and the wine is so ethereal and silky. Lighter-bodied but it builds to an extraordinary finish with notes of ripe cherries and the most complex cherry spice. I just adored this wine tonight. At Latour, Crystal Springs, NJ.

Amazingly vibrant. Bright cherry, vanilla sweetness, and sweet spice with time on the nose. After one hour the glass the nose became dirtier and darker. Sweet cherry palate with metallic notes. The finish thins at the end. This bottle must have been in exceptional condition. Did not pair particularly well with ribeye, and would have fared even better with the proper food pairing.

My MNSC (Seventh Son): popped and poured. outshone by 71 and 78. not as expressive and a fading a little. but surprisingly I thought it became better after an hour. almost a second lease of life.
