  • großartiger Riesling, der sein Alter nicht scheuen muss und blind nicht als 18 jähriger Riesling erkannt werden würde. Hat guter Druck, eine gute länge. Sehr fokussiert und alles an seinem Platz. Tolles Erlebnis.

  • PnP, crumbly cork, 13,5% Alc., golden yellow color.

    Nose: Deep, yellow fruit, freshness.

Palate: Signs of heaviness and concentration on the glass edge, yellow fruit, apricot, caramel, good freshness, harmonious natural acidity, good complexity and depth, although analytical dry sensorial the wine is more on the semi dry level. Nevertheless very delicious with a non-tiring flow. Still in a very good drinking window.

2004 is generally regarded as a very good, because it was a cooler vintage. This wine from K.P. Keller confirms this very well, where we had the 2007 Kirchspiel some months ago and enjoyed it less. Not unlikely, that 2021 could be an equally exciting year!

  • '04 Hubacher rocks! Wow. I usually start my notes with some basic info about temp and glassware, but couldn't stop myself in this case. Stunning, thrilling, and totally delicious. Jonathan and our guest went to the cellar for a reset bottle after some hefty Italian reds and came back with this. We decamped to the deck, where it was chilly but still sunny, and basked in the glow of this incredible bottle. Every evening should have such a Riesling Reset. I won't even try to throw out descriptors or comparison, as I didn't stop to think as I drank this - I was too busy feeling it, as goofy as that sounds. If angels drank wine, it might be something like this. Cliches spring to mind, like "poetry in a glass." Forgive me. The nose, the mouthfeel and the long, deep palate were enthralling. I think the wine wove a spell around us all, it was bewitching and enchanting, totally appropriate to Halloween, and so vibrant and warm, like a tiny fire. Normally I find I can't appreciate wine as much when I'm outside, but the notion that this might have been even better if we'd been indoors is a little tough to imagine.

  • Another great bottle of this. Hasn’t changed much from 4 years ago. Still remarkable balance and elegance. Perhaps a touch softer on finish.

  • Keller is one of the best dry Riesling winemakers in the world, its Großes Gewächs is precise, intense and complex. Hubacker is the latest ripening vineyard in Keller’s portfolio, also their first estate vineyard since 1789. The 2004 Keller Hubacker Großes Gewächs was brilliantly energetic and youthful, flinty pear fruits, fresh. Medium bodied with fair amount of alcohol. Good intensity and structure with hints of petrol showing the cooler climate vintage characteristics. A superb Riesling. (91/100)

(Keller Hubacker Grosses Gewachs) This was fantastic. Seemed to be more evolved than when I had it six months ago which was no problem for me as it was singing. Lovely sap and extract with a deep core of minerality and a super structure. The concentration was fantastic as was the purity and flavors of citrus fruits. Very fleshy but very lithe at the same time. The finish just went on and on. And no I did not time it.
