This is a 60/40 merlot and cabernet blend. In the glass it's deep cherry red. The nose offers lifted red berries and blackberry notes. Quite fresh and youthful still. Juicy palate entry with cherry fruit followed by fairly resolved, velvet tannins. Perhaps the length falls away a little but this is very enjoyable medium aged claret. Drinking well now but will certainly hold and may even fractionally improve over another 3+ years. For £19.99 on offer at Majestic this is very good value. 91-92pts

Le Boscq is usually a good and reasonably priced Médoc. The 2013 offers a subtle and relatively closed nose with notes of red and black fruit, iron and hints of oak. A fresh minerality touch gives gives this wine the typical Médoc charme. Light on the palate. Acidity already integrated. Earth and fruit are there. Tannins start to resolve. Oaky aftertaste. Not a big player (as typical for 2013) but enjoyable with some barbecue food! Hope that the nose will open with time... 87-89 points

Deep purple colour.
Classic bordeaux nose with cassis and lead pencil dominating.
Perhaps slightly falls down on palette but still very lovely to drink. Nice acidity, tannins smooth.
Ready to drink now, don’t imagine this will improve further.

Light in color, with a bright red berry character that focuses on red plum and cranberry, moving from sweet to tart. 84-86 Pts
