Opened the bottle 30 minutes ago, the aroma of cedar, coal and cassis takes flight, dry and lean with muscular stature, flavors of plum, blackberry and tobacco notes emerge and delight, immensely elegant, structured to age a bit but it is drinking well now

Bordeaux 2019 (Dan Murphy's, Lane Cove): With this wine the oak is immediately far less prevalent on the nose; it shows fresh, slightly crunchy, blackcurrant, pyrazine, slightly herbaceous notes show a touch of mint. Medium plus intensity acidity, fruit crunchy here as well though less well delineate with a little red fruit joining the black, tannins are grainy and in support. Long, fresh. Yum.

Left this open overnight in the cellar to air a bit. Well worth it. More black cherry in color than red or purple, it is nonetheless quite opaque. The nose (today) is quite dazzling, showing a complex range of purple flowers, cassis and plum. Just a tad hollow in the mouth, it still sports very good flavor for a $25 (at Costco) wine, and would easily best the vast majority of CA cabs in this price range. It is definitely a Bordeaux in the more classic style, showing restraint and some power. Certainly one could age this but I don't know if the fruit is enough to make for old bones. And why bother?? With a good decant, you can enjoy this now and not tempt the gods of fate. 5-13-15-8: 91/100.

opened up day 2 as others mentioned - much brighter acidity/fruit dimension than when first opened. tannins still showing youth, medium finish only.

This was significantly better the second day after opening and sitting in the fridge. Some pretty grippy tannins right now even on the second day.
