Dark red cherry in colour with only minor bricking. It has a fairly closed nose, showing black cherries, tea and cigarbox. Blackberries and tart cherries on the palate; lighter bodied that I expected. Tannins are fading fast. Drink now.

Dark cherry in color, very little bricking. Black cherries, black currant and tea on the nose. Tart cherries, fine leather on the palate. Tannins are low, but still a bit drying. Drank this alongside a '96 Mondavi Reserve Cab Sauv which stole the show.

Still a nice drink for the weekday. Fruit is mellow, currants and blackberries with a little tar, but it was never a big wine. If you have some drink up and enjoy a nice bordeaux that has the taste that only comes with age.

A nice Bordeaux and a great deal at the price. This was tight on night one with strong tannins and acid covering cool cherry fruit and mineral earth. By night two, the tannins had released the death-grip, but the acids remained strong. This worked out very well, as the wine was served with some strongly-flavoured appetizers and held its own quite well. For a basic QPR Bordeaux, I'm surprised at how youthful this is still. No fear of this going over the hill in the near term.
