The wine is now ready to go, but has not really improved in a year and shows to be a more mediocre Saint-Estèphe, can not rival with (for example) Meyney. 87(-88)

Château Le Boscq Saint- Estèphe CB 2016 13.5% alc 48% CS / 47% M / 5% PV A nice wine, but not a big wine. Still a little bit disjointed and not yet fully awakened from its dumb phase. A bit rustic. Not really on the same level as other CB from Saint-Estèphe as for example Meyney or Lilian Ladouys. Could nevertheless gain 1 or 2 points in 2 to 5 years (drink from now till 2033).

Served by the glass. Another international-style bottle that could perfectly come from anywhere in the New World. Menthol aromas of black fruit punch and spices. On the palate it is concentrated, excessively abundant and tannic, unbalanced and only moderately long. Boring right away.
Aburrido enseguida.
