  • Fully intact cork, 1/6 saturated. Ruby, opaque with slightly brown rim.

Enticing aroma of cherries, rose petals and hibiscus. Sadly the aroma is short lived and disappeared within 20 min in the decanter as the wine adjusted to room temp.

The wine is of medium weight and slightly shift the scale towards its acidity. Not unpleasant but noticeable. Tannins are integrated and only start to be grippy after taking several small sips. The cooler vintage shows and not much fruit if any is left. Tertiary flavours have yet to appear. Still a nice companion for a homemade pizza.

  • Med+ intensity, meaty, tomato paste, raspberry seed, lavender. On the palate, dry, high acidity, med+ alcohol, med+ smooth tannin, med+ body, med+ intensity, meaty, mushroom, wet leaves, tomato paste, savoury notes dominant red plum, med+ finish. Feel A little old on day 1 from Coravin.
However, open it on day 2 and bottle decanted for 2 hrs, the wine comes back to life with decayed red roses, wet leaves, licorice, smoke, sweet tobacco. Perfumed and lifted. Smooth and really delicious that reminds me of old Bordeaux. Beautiful!

  • We have been drinking about one of these per year each of the last few years, and the trajectory is not altogether encouraging. The wine still offers a fair amount of pleasure, more so early in the evening, but it combines a lot of dry tannin with some very ripe cherry flavors, so there seems to be an imbalance of structure and content, and the fruit may be exhausted before the tannins are ever integrated.
