Absolutely lovely, it was everything I hoped it'd be when I pulled it from the cellar. At 15 years old, it's in great shape: the colour is holding well, and there's still lots of fruit here. Decanted, but not for long, and served with Christmas Eve cannelloni. From 30-40 year old vines in their vineyards southwest of Gaiole. Malo and maturation are both largely in barrique, 20% new, 80% used for maturation. Forest floor, dark cherries, a hint of baking spice, and the oak had integrated beautifully. As expected, it was a great pairing for the cannelloni.

Cork in better shape than prior bottle. Color slightly bricked but nose and palate were good. Some cherry. Good acidity. Paired well with pasta bolognese.

Bottom of cork crumbled on extraction, although most was intact. Lots of sediment and orange brick color. Wine itself wasn't bad but not at all what we expected. It seemed a bit tired and without a lot of fruit. Two more bottles so maybe this one was just off.

This is much better as a Priorat or Toro wine than a Chianti. Dark fruited, concentrated with a modicum of acidity makes this a non-Chianti in my book. Nevertheless, this is delicious like F**K and very early stage maturity.
If you're looking for a classic Classico, look elsewhere.
Don't think I'd even get the grape right in a blind tasting...

Lovely. Fruit rich and ripe. Beautiful texture - soft, pliable yet solidly "there".
