Bouquet threw forth ripe yellow fruit, marzipan, barley, chalk and yellow flowers, translating into pineapples, nashi pears and ripe yellow peaches on the palate. Fantastic acidity on the very long finish gives this the lift it needs. Serious complexity and depth that only an aged Montrachet can provide, much less one from a fantastic vintage and having survived the years! Truly what a bottle this was and I count my lucky stars.

Pearl of Burgundy gala dinner: Wow I haven’t had a Montrachet before and what a first introduction. Slightly tired, bruised apple nose but the palate was showing beautifully. Had the sheer brute force of a Monty that never threatened to overwhelm. You could feel the royalty of this wine.

Unfortunately oxidized. Sad because goodness lurked underneath

Montrachet: Sadly meh. I'm 0 for 2 on this vintage and would love to drink a good bottle.

Atlanta Amoureuses & Monty Dinner: PnP. Tired and a bit oxydized.
