  • This is a decent bottle of wine, but not a very good bottle of burgundy. The '04 green meanies are ever present and come across as a distinct herbal note that gains over the course of the evening and distracts from the many favorable attributes this wine would otherwise have to offer. This has surprisingly sweet, round, ripe red fruit notes that - when combined with the herbal notes - make for an unexpected, awkward experience. Low acid. I could go into greater detail looking for subtle notes and silver lining, but it's just not there. Alas, a strikeout.

  • Shows a touch green but not flawed in my opinion, though tannins are noticeably strong still. Guesses ranged from nebbiolo to Pommard or Corton. Pretty nose. Decent palate, approachable despite the tannins.

  • Slightly rotted raspberries, hints of leaf, notes of smoke; smooth, silky, mouth-filling, mysterious
15 Minutes: Palate is fiery, smoking, scintillating; very pleasant; depth
30 Minutes and 1 Hour: Very similar but both nose and palate have more wood beginning to emerge

  • Maturing color. The nose is elegant, showing aromas of raspberry, flowers, earth, and minerals. Just a touch somber. This is medium full bodied on the palate, with good concentration and real finesse for the vintage. Now round. The long finish features slightly dry tannins.

  • Very nice Pinot with good fresh fruit, violets and mineral notes on the nose. Some hints of herbaceousness? which somehow cloudy the purity of the wine? Palate is lean in a good sense, acidity is high-ish but is supported by fruit. Good and satisfying if not exceptional. Can keep.
