The last winter appeared to be particularly hot and favored an early vine- growth. We had frost only 8 times. Spring was characterized by high temperatures, but offset by fresh temperatures at night. Thus budburst only began around mid-March while remaining two weeks ahead of the usual cycle. April was very dry. In June, blooming got off to a great start, filling us with optimism for the future. From July, the Veraison seemed more disorganized: it started early and ended late, with changes of colors until after mid-August. Summer was really disappointing. Fortunately the weather became very nice from the 29th of August. And this incredible Indian summer settled down until the last day of October. September was one of the driest and hottest in the last century. Thanks to this wonderful weather conditions we were able to harvest at the appropriate pace. We could wait until the perfect level of maturity. , Grape harvest dates • Merlot : from October 1 st to 10 th • Cabernet Sauvignon : from October 13 th to 18 th • Cabernet Franc : October 18 th Blending • 60 % Merlot • 39 % Cabernet Sauvignon • 1 % Cabernet Franc Yield 40,5 hl/ha Ageing • 40 % new barrels • 25 % one-year barrels • 35 % two-year barrels Production 115.000 bottles Bottling date at the château From April 29 th to May 4 th 2016 Alcoholic degree 12,5 % Vol. Source: winery website.
A curiosity. Not sure about provenance. Colour: med deep red, thin rim, purple tinge. Nose: q full, dusky, earthy, some plum flavours, more damson, good CS notes to back up. Taste: light body, rounded, soft, plums then cassis, lacks structure, med finish, dry, touch tannic, plums, almosr sour plums. Overall, worth trying but not a humdinger. a light claret with 12.5% ABV.

Very bright fruit, some green bell pepper, herbaceous, earthy. On the palate a bit woody, green, hard, lacking generousity. Lots of acidity, quite angular tannins. 85-87

This delivered the strongest presentation and provided the most substance of several Left Bank 2014 Bordeaux tasted over the weekend. Typical black earth dirtiness of Listrac-Médoc, with Cabernet varietal essences showing strongly, including blackcurrant, pepper garden, and graphite. Satisfying!
