  • Blackberries, currants, cedar and tobacco for the nose. From there you find, ample, sweet, ripe, fresh, spicy, chewy red currants, soft, ripe tannins and a blast of red fruits that start in the mid-palate and stick with you through the finish. This is a solid value from Listrac that value seekers should look out for. Drink from 2023-2038.

  • At the UGC Chicago. Moderate fruit fragrance, moderate concentration and flavor with a herbaceous note, moderate aftertaste of about 5 seconds. Very young, and reminds me of my experience with the 2011 vintage of the same wine where it was muted when first tried but subsequent bottles drank beautifully with added age. I sense similar potential with the 2020 especially with the current vintage being a stronger year than 2011.

2027-2040 (April/Mai 2021)

  • Airoldi - Bordeaux En Primeur 2020 (Quay Restaurant, International Passenger Terminal, Sydney): Biscuit, graphite over red and blackcurrant, sweet spice, very slightly lifted note. Very slight sourness on the palate, juicy with plenty of drying front of mouth grip, red and black fruits here as well. Meh.

  • Notably lighter and redder in appearance, and this suits the nose, which has some earth and game about it. With time there are some appreciable sweet elements.
Cool on the attack, this is on the savoury side, the tannins a little less refined, chalky and grippy, and there is a lean and toasty finish.
