Cork was slightly lifted and I wonder if the bottle got too hot at some point. Decent wine, good fruit, but a little harsh. (Left in an open decanter overnight, it was a bit better the next day.)

Black and blue fruit, currant, and cassis aromas show an underlying funk-like dankness. Earthy notes of licorice, conifer, and purple flowers then ensue. The palate is deep, long, and complex, with generous amounts of plump dark fruit, lifted by a succulent cut and a beautiful spine. Excellent now with room to improve.

Enjoyed it well enough with steak dinner, TUCCIPA pretty much nailed it, definitely darker fruits and figs, with a touch of dark chocolate on the med- finish, tannins smooth and seemed a bit thin on the mid-palate, straightforward and not likely to improve much from here.

What a wonderful wine! Dark fruits with notes of blackberry, dark cherry, dark plumb, and great spice!! An actual elegant texture and nose.
