  Birth year wine. This one was still kicking at 40. A good amount of fruit still remains. Tannins are completely resolved, but still decent grip. Nose was well integrated and surprisingly powerful. Palate had a nice spicy note that carried front to back around a core of black fruit. This bottle may have faired better than others as it was stored in the winemakers basement for 30 years after bottling before I acquired it.

The nose was lovely for about 2-3 minutes then everything...everything fell flat, dried out, and was just a little too late to this party.
