IPNC Weekend 2023; 7/26/2023-7/31/2023: Pale gold color. Drank a couple glasses over 2 hours. Matt's bottle, at the Bistro in Cannon Beach. This was really expressive, showing purity and that crystalline focus, cool lemon, dynamic sea breezes with a pleasing note that I just can't quite put my finger on. The palate has that same intensity, purity and focus; sour lemon, briny and swampy earth with a little green apple on a the back end. Thrilled to see I have a couple of these :). 94+ to 95pts.

Shared with friends at a dinner post IPNC. Oh yeah there's a lot to like here. Classic oyster shells, damp salinity, green apple and enough tension to keep things interesting. Very nice.

Fruit of green pear with hints of ripe peach and kiwi. Salty minerality. Fresh and clear palate with citrus juice aromas, just a hint of cream on the texture. Aging well with plenty or years ahead, but rather narrow in terms of complexity.

(Semi-blind tasting, 2014 white Burg) Meidum-fullish nose nose. Pure and clean, lacking a bit complexity. Fruity and green apple. Some oyster shell minerality. Austere, medium-fullish palate. Very pure and clean. High acidity. Green apple and grapefruit. Some herbs and gun-smoke, but not enough for pedigry. A bit thin.

Starting to come around—in the just ready stage. Bee pollen, lemon blossom, and oyster shells on the nose with a whisper of reduction. Fine tension and ripeness with that signature Billaud super-charged character. Perhaps not the first word in transparency, but smashing with tuna tartare. I’d hold, though opening a bottle now is no crime. Very good. Glad to have a few more bottles.
