Sublime harmony. The King and Queen of the wine world have come alive through this wonderful bottle.
Full of life, vibrancy and yumminess factor, this is a great expression of this blend, even the Bordelais would be proud. You could even place it as a Left Bank somewhere between a Pauillac and St Estephe. Wonderful bouquet of dark fruit, spice, violet and a touch of eucalyptus. Body has lovely fine tannin with endless waves earthbound notes, chocolate leading to a long finish. Oak is well integrated and while you know it is there, it is part of the story and not the story itself. A great wine of true first growth class.
Drink now to 7+ years.

This is at about the limit where I consider old wine to still be enjoyable. There's still some fresh Clare Valley mint/eucalypt on the nose along with sweet blackberry and blackcurrant fruit but it's also showing some "old wine" raisining that I don't personally enjoy. After some time in glass a cool licorice flavour also emerged.
Still enjoyable but was probably a lot better 5years ago, and if I had more I definitely wouldn't be keeping them longer.

A thrilling wine to taste, exuberant and high-energy, with unmistakable aromas of mint & eucalyptus tagging the pedigree from the moment uncorked. Vibrant and expansive on the palate, where those signature notes are joined by dark fruit and some tobacco, well balanced by a fine acidity. Takes on weight with air. Will return to the rest of the bottle tonight.

Heavily oxidised. Pure raisins.

heavy, probably didn’t have enough time to open up. So better towards the end. Needed a few hours to really open up. Would drink again with more time.
