A bit of aeration and into a decanter. Notably really approachable from the first sip. Very much medium bodied. Its a lovely blend, with cabernet nuances with some malbec 'jubiness' coming through too. Elegant in style and balance, very good length with a touch of drying tannins. Trademark Wendouree stylistic oak and spice, and some rustic notes. Interesting the colour is just starting to brown on the edges in the glass, but still feels youthful; I feel it lacks the structure for the real long haul, but overall drinking really well.

Agree with everyone’s commentary. All of the elements are lined up exactly where they should be. Very much approachable now but will offer a load more in 5-10 years. Really liking how well the Cab and Malbec is meshing here. Need more.

Consistent dark purple to red rim. All the Wendouree Cabernets from 2017-2019 display beautiful, scented bouquets. Here’s blackberry, dark cherry, bay leaf, and subtle gum and tobacco. Is that a streak of cassis lurking in the background?
An elegant palate. Soft, easy entry, thanks to the almost powdery tannin and succulent red and black fruits. Customary acid enlivens the finish.
Early critiques of this wine and the Wendouree 2017s were greatly exaggerated. This may not have the classic authority of some years (2015) but it more than makes up for it with grace, beautiful fruit and ‘soft power’. I think it will age superbly, for a long time, with higher scores. But it’s a fab drink now.

Agree with previous note re points, 94. Come back in 7-10. Hard acidity noted by GW this vintage now folded in to the wine. Needs more time to soften. Excellent. 93-94.

Opened and given air for around 2-3 hours. This drinks surprisingly well for such a young wine. If you have a few, give one a crack. Good nose, tannins present (not overwhelming) but give the wine a good shape. Pleasing finish. 93-94
