This was a nice wine, if fairly simple at first. Quite bold and dark for a Nebbiolo blend (90% Nebbiolo I believe). It did have some nice nuance on the finish and opened up a bit more on the second day. Would drink this up fairly soon.

A bit hot & porty for me Air time did not seem to settle it down Whatever was blended with the Neb (Barbera?) seemed to dominate Not bad value I suppose.

Simple, urgent, and rustic but (or so) succeeds as a partner for roasted tomato soup with butter and anchovies. Light to medium bodied and old school, like something you’d find on the table in informal glasses at that Italian place that’s been there since your parents were dating.

Spiced plums backed by red cherry, liquorice, salami, charcuterie. Juicy, spiced and savoury, meaty, plummy, a little tannic burr, simple, okay.

Dry, earthy and tart with hints of plum, apples and tea leaves. Metallic taste straight out of the bottle so probably a good idea to decant first.
