  • The cork crumbled and bits of it remained stuck in the neck after removing. There are also small oil stains on the surface and the liquid is not terribly pleasant to drink.

  • Plucky Wines selection. blending young nebbiolo with barbera still does not result in an enjoyable wine. this is medium bodied with varietal characteristics of both nebbiolo and barbera (meaning you can taste both grapes in this wine). there's reasonable balance here but nothing particularly interesting on the nose or on the palate. IMHO, nebbiolo is not meant to be drunk young; period. it's needs age to develop those secondary aromatics and flavor characteristics that we so cherish. if the nebbiolo is not worthy of barolo or barbaresco, they bottle it as Langhe Nebbiolo or Nebbiolo d"Alba. Stay away from all of these as they are nothing more than acidulated cherry juice often accompanied by a mouthful of tannins. Don't buy them. Don't get sucked in. the grapes come from either young vines or vines that yield grapes that don't achieve phenolic ripeness. often these grapes grow on a side of the hill that has poor exposure, etc. This isn't Gaja who decertified his barbaresco's to throw in a little barbera.... Say to yourself 100 times over...."No Langhe Nebbiolo, No barriques, No Berlusconi!" and no blends of nebbiolo, ever! this same producer makes a barolo from the Dardi vineyard that is off the charts good, but only after 12 to 15 years of aging. Do yourself a favor and get a bottle!

  • hints at flowers and fresh red cherries on the nose, bright and balanced, deep cherry flavors, melded with stone, herb and cranberry flavors, fresh, young and energetic, very nice with cheese pizza

  • Very accessible young Nebbiolo, if a bit dry and finishes a bit lean

  • Very bright and flavorful fruit, with a smooth, velvety palate and subtle peppery notes. Delicious, accessible Nebbiolo if you’re looking for something with less power than a Barbaresco or Barolo.
