  • Well, I definitely get the Beaujolais comparisons here, although I also get nebbiolo character as well, albeit on the fruitier end—I'm not sure what else this is blended with, but I'd guess barbera over dolcetto due to the bright red fruited nature. Medium ruby color with transparency and veering towards garnet at the edges. Aromas of red fruits, florals, black tea, tar, mushroom, and earth. Light to medium body, bright acids, medium (+) to long finish, and flavors of high toned red fruits, lemon, black tea, and orange peel. This was good with our calzones and it's improved over the 3-4 hours it's been open. It's drinking well now, but I also think it could easily see its 10th birthday just fine. Nice label too. 89-90 for me tonight.

  • Beaujolais like. Drinkable but not exciting

  • Bright and tasty. An easy drinking Nebbiolo, if there ever was one.

  • Yes, it is light body but it carries big fruit profile, reminds a fruit punch. The key hint in Antonio Galloni note is pointing out carbonic maceration. I found this wine in tune with Beaujolais wine more then with standard fruit profile of Nebbiolo. Those who like heavier rose wines, should find a lot to like here and I think it is best served slightly chilled.

  • On the nose I found an gorgeous display of spiced plum, black cherry, clove, licorice, wet stone and dusty floral notes. It was remarkably juicy on the palate, with persistent flavors of tart cherry, herbal tea and mint, seeming to be both textural and lifted at the same time. The finish showed tart red fruits offset by sweet herbs.

This really is a great value, Antonio nailed it. Looking at earlier tasting notes, I have to wonder if there are different lots that were bottled, and I do see "L45" printed on the side of my label.
