M&PD Tasting: Westward (Seattle, WA, USA): Double-decanted a few hours earlier, this was sharply reductive. A few hours served it quite well, unreal funk, shockingly good, bell pepper, tobacco, spicy, vibrant, really a revelation. So much leaf and stem, a baby Bordeaux with incredible fruit. Utter wow.

EVH. Holy shit. One of the best Cab Francs I’ve ever had. Cloves, earth and fruit. Very lively, but acid already in check. Reminded me of an aged Emidio Pepe - but it’s still so young! MPD at Westward.

Remarkable bottle here. It’s definitely richer and more polished than the 14 Clos, but not like the oak was OTT or obtrusive in any way. Silky and concentrated, with classic cab franc notes of green pepper but by no means underripe. It’s a long keeper

Wow wine, that really stood out in a amazing selections of wines (it was the only cab franc). Just seamless from start to finish and very classy. Elegant. Has an ethereal quality but it's not light. Tobacco and herbal leaf notes really set this apart and are interwoven int he fabric of the fruit. Second Rougeard and it hasn't disappointed.

Tasted in a restaurant Nose : discreet red fruit and hint of tobacco clean and precise Mouth : light body high acidity well balanced cherry pepperoni blackberry so typical of Cabernet Franc Final : well balanced short with notes of pepperoni and blackberry. Conclusion way to young should give it 10 years more to reach its full potential otherwise very good
