  • Slight barnyard, green peppers, upfront floral notes, raspberry and hay. This is nicely textured, pure of fruit (but savory) that enters gently and grows beautifully to a long textured and lingering finish. Simply delicious.

  • Think this was a less than stellar kept bottle - from benchmark, as it felt more advanced in its life and just past peak (don’t think it should be).

Even then - explosive nose of bloody tomato and plum with a backing of pepper and spice. Mellowed out in bottle after an hour or two. The issue with this bottle was the palate, not nearly as good as the ‘10 Poyeaux and a bit advanced (likely this particular bottle). More Bordeaux than Burgundian

  • Another stunning bottle of the Le Bourg 2011, the best yet. From the first sniff to the last sip, this gives you goosebumps. Ever evolving and changing aromas, infinite complexity, and perfect purity, all wrapped in the most elegant and airy structure. This is truly a world class wine.

TN: Wow. Expressive, intense nose full of red berries, darker red berries, tobacco, truffles, earthy aromas, dried herbs. Same aroma profile with even more tertiary aromas alongside some floral notes and spices. Ever changing and evolving with an absolute, laser sharp precision. No weight, light and airy, despite all the aromatic intensity. The finest tannins and a perfectly integrated, high acidity. As harmonious and balanced as a wine can get.

Decanting: Not decanted, good from the go. No extensive decanting needed.

  • Tasted at Nobelhart & Schmutzig, Berlin. A versatile nose with intense herbal notes of nettles, wild garlic and red bell pepper. Also forest floor and moist tobacco. Embedded in all of this an inconspicuous red berry fruit. Fresh and fruity, mostly weightless palate with more leather and tobacco in the finish. Third bottle all from different sources in 2 years and all of them pristine and performing consistently at 96-97 levels.
