Starting to get a golden yellow color. The nose has some bananas and clove as well as some pear aromas. Its maybe a bit past its prime, with a touch of maderization on the nose and palate as well. Lots of palate weight though.

An excellent nose: fresh, very attractively fragrant, together with a hint of caramel. Clean attack – fills well into a fairly rich wine. Though there’s a touch of harsh acidity on the finish. 87/100, but assuming it turns out like the 1996, is should rate higher in 3-4 years time.
